BIO
Dorry Spikes makes prints, drawings and paintings. Her work is influenced by language, place and memory. Group exhibitions include Y Lle Celf at the National Eisteddfod, Nepal Arts Council, APT Gallery London, Bankley Open, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, Paint Talk and Lido Stores, Margate.
STATEMENT
I paint to navigate a shifting sense of home and belonging. I am interested in how devotion and attention can create moments of connection. My paintings and drawings seek to capture the sensory and emotional immediacy of an itinerant existence and my own personal experience of living and searching for light in the darkness.
